Portfolio Manager Changes at Oakmark Global Select Do Not Affect Its Ratings

Harris Associates, advisor to the Oakmark funds, announced several portfolio manager changes across its fund lineup on Aug. 1, 2022. As it relates to Oakmark Global Select, Bill Nygren is stepping off the fund in December 2023 to focus on U.S. offerings Oakmark and Oakmark Select. Nygren is a legendary investor with 40-plus years of investment experience and has been a comanager here since its 2006 inception. That said, Nygren’s succession plan here has long been in the works. Tony Coniaris, who joined the firm in 1999 and subsequently became a key leader on the U.S. side, was named a comanager here in 2016 and has gradually assumed more responsibilities since. Encouragingly, he has always been impressive in interviews, is in sync with the team’s philosophy, and invests heavily in the offering alongside fundholders.
