MFS announced that longtime MFS Technology MTCAX manager Matt Sabel will retire on May 31, 2024. Sabel has run the strategy since mid-2011. Veteran technology analyst Reinier Dobbelmann will join as a comanager on April 15, 2022, and take over when Sabel retires. Dobbelmann joined MFS in 1998 as an analyst and has 28 years of industry experience. He is among the most tenured analysts on MFS' technology team and has specialized in non-U.S. technology companies recently. Dobbelmann will benefit from the long, two-year transition, which helps ensure continuity for shareholders. The managers are also well supported with a deep, globally based analyst team. This keeps the strategy’s People rating at Above Average, and its cheapest share classes retain a Morningstar Analyst Rating of Bronze while the more expensive land at Neutral.
