What New CFO Means for Vulcan Materials
With significant experience as a CFO at companies with similar end markets in construction, Suzanne Wood is a suitable replacement.
On July 10, Vulcan Materials (VMC) announced the planned retirement of CFO and Chief Strategy Officer John McPherson. Effective Sept. 1, Suzanne Wood will assume CFO duties, while McPherson will stay on through the end of the year as chief strategy officer. Wood’s most recent role was CFO of Ashtead Group, an equipment rental company with sales of more than $4 billion. With significant experience as a CFO at companies with similar end markets in construction, we think Wood is a suitable replacement for McPherson. As such, we’re maintaining our standard stewardship rating for Vulcan. Our narrow-moat rating and $148 per share fair value estimate are also unchanged.
