American Century Loses Another Investment Executive
Growth-stock investing chief Goodwin the second executive to leave this month.
American Century Investments lost its second high-ranking investment professional in a month on Tuesday.
The Kansas City, Mo.-based fund family said C. Kim Goodwin, co-manager of American Century Growth (TWCGX) and the chief of American Century's large-cap growth stock investing team, has left to become the chief investment officer of equity investing at Boston-based State Street Research & Management. Goodwin will replace State Street Research’s current head of stock investing, Jim Weiss, who is leaving the firm for personal reasons. Starting next month, Goodwin will oversee all of State Street Research’s equity investments and will lead a team of more than 50 portfolio managers, analysts, and traders. Goodwin will report to Richard S. Davis, State Street Research’s president and chief executive officer.
