Jeremy Glaser: For Morningstar, I'm Jeremy Glaser and welcome to The Week Ahead.
Earnings seasons will be in full swing this week. After the better-than-expected results from banks of Friday we'll get updated from other financial institutions including Bank of America, Blackrock, Goldman Sachs, American Express, and Morgan Stanley.
The cloud will be in focus as Microsoft, IBM, and Intel report. All three have been grappling, with various degrees of success, to the shift to software as a service.
Other results we will be looking for include Netflix, which had disappointing results last quarter after a price hike; McDonald's, which is looking to keep its turnaround going; and industrial stalwart General Electric.
The consumer price index, which will be released on Tuesday, is likely going to be the most watched economic data release as the market looks for signs that higher inflation will force the Fed's hand in raising rates. Other data this week includes industrial production and some regional manufacturing gauges.
Stay tuned to Morningstar for our take on all of these stories.
