The Fed meeting, which will conclude on Wednesday, has been top of mind for some time now as investors have pondered when the central bank will raise rates again. Recent mixed economic data means that an increase at this meeting is becoming a more distant possibility, but the market will still closely parse the statement, new economic projections, and chair Yellen's press conference for any hints that a hike is coming in 2016.

A smattering of housing data is also due this week.

There isn't much in the way of earnings as the third quarter winds down. Still, we will get updates from Adobe, FedEx, Bed, Bath and Beyond, and General Mills.

Stay tuned to Morningstar for our take on all of these stories.
