The Week Ahead: More Economic Hints Ahead of Fed Meeting
We'll watch for the JOLTS report, ISM services index, and the Fed's Beige Book. Plus, results from Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Jeremy Glaser: For Morningstar, I'm Jeremy Glaser, and welcome to The Week Ahead, our quick take on what investors should have on their radar screens for the week starting Sept. 5.
After a very busy data week, the market will get a bit of a breather.
The Fed's meeting isn't until later in the month, but we'll get a few more hints of how the economy is performing. The JOLTS report will give another lens on the employment market; the ISM services index will show if the nonmanufacturing sector is holding up; while the Fed's Beige Book provides a snapshot of how the regional Fed banks are seeing conditions in their district.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise will report results on Wednesday. The no-moat firm has been grappling with the shift away from on-site storage networking and toward the public cloud.
Stay tuned to Morningstar for our take on all of these stories.
