Dreyfus to Offer Advice with Its Retirement Plans

A keeper of employee nest eggs has decided to tell workers what to do with their investments.

Dreyfus Defined Contribution Investors, the unit of Mellon Financial (MEL) that sells retirement plans such as 401(k)s, on Monday launched its personal-advisor service. The program will give Dreyfus' retirement-plan participants access to a financial planner who will offer them one-on-one advice in forging fiscal plans, recommend asset-allocation strategies, and periodically maintain accounts.
