Financial Execs Bullish about Web

They predict Internet will claim 19% of fund sales in five years.

Few mutual-fund investors may be buying and selling online now, but financial-industry executives expect that to change within the next five years, according to a recent survey.

A poll of 200 financial-service executives across the world predicts that in five years 19% of all mutual-fund sales and 17% of all annuity and individual-retirement-account purchases will take place over the Web.
