Kemper Emerging Markets Growth Changes Direction
With new managers and a new strategy, this two-year-old fund is going its own way.
In a move that raises questions about Scudder Kemper's fund-lineup strategy, the advisor has replaced the managers of tiny Kemper Emerging Markets Growth (no ticker) and tweaked the fund's investment approach.
The $8 million fund in 1999 posted the year's worst showing in the diversified emerging-markets category, so on one level the move is no shock. What is surprising is Scudder Kemper not making the same changes at former clone fund Scudder Emerging Markets Growth (SEMGX).
