European markets were slightly higher Wednesday with shares supported by key economic data out of the region.
The FTSE was up 0.3%. The CAC 40 Paris and the German DAX both edged up 0.2% each.
Earlier, the Gfk consumer climate index showed a reading of 7.4, beating expectations for a reading of 7.1.
Also, a second estimate of U.K.’s economic growth in the third-quarter remained unchanged at 0.8%.
Investors are also looking ahead to a batch of data in the U.S. later in the session.
Stocks on the Move
Compass Group PLC was up 2.8% after the company reported results.
United Utilities was up 1.6% after lifting dividend.
BNP Paribas and Societe Generale were up 0.3% and 0.8% each, respectively. In Frankfurt, Deutsche Bank declined 0.2%.
