European stocks were little changed near five-year highs midmorning Friday following solid gains the previous session after dovish comments from the U.S. Fed Chairwoman nominee Janet Yellen.

Serco Group PLC lifted 2.8% after a broker downgrade.
Vivendi SA advanced 3.4% in Paris following its third-quarter results that beat sales as well as earnings estimates. The media and telecoms conglomerate also said plans to hive off its SFR telecoms unit was making progress.
Deutsche Bank AG edged down marginally in Frankfurt.
